I can help with that by working with you to discover what is impacting you, increase your resilience & create a more meaningful life by teaching you coping techniques. I have worked with trauma survivors for over 16 years & seeking help is the first step towards healing.

Counselling can help you work through your feelings, thoughts and relationships, helping make sense of why you feel the way you do. You are not alone in feeling this way. There are times in all our lives when we need a little extra support and insight from a qualified professional.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches to help clients process past traumatic experiences, reduce physical reactivity, lower anxiety and decrease depression. It takes courage to take that first step toward change and my passion is to help people discover their inner strength and resources.

I have specialized training in EMDR, a therapy that was developed to help people heal from the emotional distress resulting from traumatic life experiences. EMDR is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma and many other mental health problems.  I integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches to help clients process past traumatic experiences, reduce physical reactivity, lower anxiety and decrease depression.

I am intentional about creating a private, safe and non-judgmental space to process your concerns, enabling you to share  your story. Having lived in multiple countries and cultures, I am warm, open, accepting, respectful and inclusive of culture, orientation, lifestyle, and beliefs. Utilising a collaborative and client-centred approach that balances compassion with a  touch of humour and the firm belief that people have the capacity to create change, we can work  together to implement those changes you want to see in your life.

I am Jeannine, a Registered Certified Counsellor/ Psychotherapist with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. I am committed to walking alongside my clients with compassion and understanding while utilising evidence-based therapies to promote healing and growth.

As the connection between counsellor and client is all-important, and reaching out is often the hardest part, I offer a free 20-minute consultation either online or over the phone, to enable the client to feel comfortable.
